Cadiz Comfort Zone Event Photos

In June, we hosted the Toymaker' Luncheon. Curran Copeland , a Kentucky Crafted artist, from Cadiz helped the girls and boys create their own wooden toys. They also ate worm sandwiches and dirt sundaes. It was a great day. I don't know for sure who had more fun the kids or Curran. Families from as far away as Nashville participated.
Our first event of 2014 was a Princess Tea. Sweet tea was served with mini sandwiches, cupcakes and assorted sweet treats. Each attendee got time with the Princess of BlueSprings and a rayla gift to take home with them.
The Easter Bunny showed up in Trigg County to have breakfast with those who ate at Reva's Place the Saturday before Easter. He was so friendly and all the kids, regardless of their age, had their picture taken to prove that the Easter bunny does exist.
2013 Cadiz Comfort Zone Events
We all ( 35 artists) had a great time our first year in this Historic cabin in downtown Cadiz. Even though the heating and cooling was challenging, no one had any damage to their work, everyone volunteered ask requested and a family was created of wonderful artistic people who live in Trigg County. Unfortunately, our landlord did not choose to accept our generous offer to start restoration of the historic landmark and the building was sold.

Small Business Saturday was a great success for us and the entire downtown. Everyone participated at the cost of a few dozen cookies. As shoppers went from store to store they received a free cookie. When they were done, they had a box of Holiday cookies to take home and start their holiday with. Will we do it again? you will just have to wait and see.
Halloween Safe Night is always fun, but especially in a creepy old log cabin!

August's Dog Days event was a food drive for our Trigg County Humane Society. We collected enough to fill Ramona's truck. We want to especially want to thank the Girl Scouts that came by. We had so much fun while you were here. Come on back to do some art!

Our Hamfest Popular Vote Art Competition

Artists entered to compete for the POPULAR VOTE. Voters use change and dollar bills to "vote" for their favorite. The monies collected were awarded to the winning artists on a 50/30/20 split. The winners were

First Place: Keven Hendon for the Knitted Chair
Second Place:Madeline Manzer for her Self Portrait
Third Place: Ken Roberts for his Big Fish.

A total of 52 artists participated in the competition where the money is split among the winners. The Art Competition that we used our parking lot for offered visitors and little quiet space in the organized chaos that is Hamfest.

We had a great time sharing our works with those not familiar with our store. We raised money for two families experiencing hardships and sold art from Trigg County to head all over the country. It was a great event.

Visit our Facebook page to see these "most popular" works of art.

July's Kids Day event was "Nature in your own Backyard" was  a huge success with the children because th.ey got to pet a black rat snake that Mary Schmidt,  LBSRP Naturalist, brought for show and tell. The Bug Jars were also a hit

The Comfort Zone was one of the sponsors of August First Friday Concert featuring Jeremy Dale and 2nd Coming at the Renaissance Stage. There was a very nice crowd that covered generations. Food was available at Reva's Place across from the staging . It was a great night that the community shared together.

June's Kidz Day was about printing fish. Max learned how to stamp, relatives from out of town had some fun also.

Family First Fridays Kicked off at Cadiz Comfort Zone with Ray Wyatt and Friends. The weather was cool and threathening, but the Music was AWESOME.

Our First Anything and Everything Yard Sale. Everyone had lots of fun and made some money. Held the Third Saturday of the month we hope to see you at the next one.

Mr. Greenthumbs, aka Jim Mullen KY Master Gardener, helped children decorate pots and plant sunflowers for their Mom's during Spring Fling in downtown Cadiz.
